Crazy over table tennis...

I didn't know table tennis is so fun until the locals taught me the basics.
I love this game... Last month, i bought a "double happiness" table tennis paddle for about SGD$18 because there was a sales, and i have no regrets about it.
Both David(NYU) and i have two 师父 (teachers), Ivershing and Shadow. Shadow taught us the proper strokes and Ivershing do the drills of thousands over strokes until i managed to get the right posture and able to smack the ball right.
We ranked ourselves by playing against one another, training every night and play tournament weekly. In fact, i just came back from a game, 12am till 3am.
I didn't want stop the game, because i am starting to get the strokes right but the guys need to rest.
Last week, we played against one another for a bowl of Jelly, and i lost two games straight, and was seeded at the fifth position (last position).
Today, i managed to beat someone 2-0 out of 3 games, so i guess i am 4th now...
Really love this game now, will cherish every night of ping pong because i know i can't train so often when i am back in Singapore.
Below are some photos we took last week.
My photos are unglam because my strokes are TOTALLY WRONG!!!
Will try to take a video of our game, you will be amazed to see how our 师父 (teachers) play THE GAME..

Linda Chung Show @ Telford Plaza II

Today, we went to have CharSiew/SiewYoke/SiewAu rice at 大兴restaurant at Megabox, it is simply delicious!!! I went with Timorty, Leslie and Jinde... After that we head toward Telford Plaza II as crazy fans of Linda Chung, the number 1 actress in Hong Kong drama industry. Though she can act, but her singing is so-so, just slightly above average... Well, enjoy the photos!

After the show, we went to walk around the neighbourhood area of Tao Da, where the SARS outbreak first spread out...

Hike up Fei Ngo Shan (Kowloon Peak)

TGIF!!!! While most of the exchange students head towards Lan Kwai Fong for clubbing, the few of us chose to hike up Kowloon Peak or Fei Ngo Shan, where the locals say it's not recommended because there were no stairs for us to hike up. We had to walk on the main road where some Initial D fanatics do their racing. (I AM SERIOUS!!! We saw many nice sportscars parking by the side of the road on our way up.) It is also said that there were wild boars and dogs , but sadly, we only see some stray dogs.
We were all standing at the observatory area of the peak where many drama were once filmed. (溏心风暴二 之 家好月圆 was filmed here, you know which scene was it?

After taking a few photos, we hiked down to the base. It took us half an hour...

After our hardship, we decided to go for some good food! i craved for Thai food, so we took a bus to Kowloon City, also known as Mini Bangkok because there were so many Thai restaurants there!
Tom "Yum-my" Goong!!!

Some photos from Halloween night at Lan Kwai Fong

From far, i thought he was Fortune God! haha! then i realized that i need to change my contact lenses' degree.. It's the King of Hell?

Erhem... this is at the MTR station where the guys managed to get hold of the nurses. Daring people...

Turn-off of the night... When we asked them to take a photo with us, they replied in a Hunky voice...

We are posing outside Macdonalds. Apparently, many others came over to take photos with them after me. They are pretty popular that night.

This is my favorite photo!!!! I watch Power Ranger when i am young, so this really brings back good memories... Lol!!

The costumes are colourful, but abit wrong for Halloween...
They looked friendly, and not scary at all...

I love this picture! He is looking at me innocently: why this weird uncle take a photo of me?

Best Dress! They totally freak me out...
That's all, will post more hong kong photos soon!

Champion's League: Chelsea 1-0 Roma

Woke up at 2.45am (GMT+8) to catch Chelsea vs Roma...
It was goal-less until the 76th minutes when Captain JT scored.
Once again, the captain saves the day!
However, not so lucky for Liverpool as Simao cancelled Robbie Keane first half goal at 83rd minute.

Anyway, didn't waste my time to watch this match even though i have Game Theory Mid-term Exam in 7hours time.
Going to meet John Nash in my dream now.. good night!

Injury-hit Chelsea never disappoint True Blue

Chelsea FC went on to play against Middlesbrough without 7 of their first team players (Didier Drogba, Michael Ballack, Michael Essien, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole, Ricardo Carvalho and Petr Cech)...
but guess what's the scoreline?
It is Middlesbrough 0-5 Chelsea.
I was watching the match while chatting with Kalong on Msn...
Truly Classy Chelsea!

My best soccer match so far....

Day shot of the artificial field from my hall.
Night Shot (Notice the "thing" at the centre of this pic?)
to the left of this picture is the jetty with the BBQ pits, and where the rocky bay is.

After 1-2 months of slacking, i decided to make a point to wake up early and EXERCISE!

And i have chosen to play soccer because my Korean Roommate(Kang) is also a football fanatic, but sadly, he is a Red Devil...

This fine sunday morning, i pull Kang out of bed at 8am and drag him down to our school's artificial soccer pitch. It is very convenient as we have the elevator and the field is within a stone's throw.

We rented two soccer balls using our Student cards and practised some dribbling, crossing, passing and shooting. Kang injured his ankle one month ago and it was a recovery training for him. There were a few joggers in the early morning and they gave us some weird stares. ( i don't know why.)

After a while, the artificial soccer pitch was populated by a group of Hong Kong working adults. (They looked too old to be undergrads). We then decided to take our leave when one uncle wearing a England jersey stopped us and invited the both of us to play with them, 11-a-side soccer.

Wow! I was thrilled by the invitation, but Kang was injured so he sat by the side to watch us play.

I told him i wanted to play full back, so he assigned me to play at the left back. I hopei will not to make the same mistake as Ashley Cole did. Lol.

The game went very smoothly, the uncles want me to bring the ball forward whenever i have the ball. I feel that playing wing back is quite shagged, as i do not have stamina to do so many runs.
I guessed the opposition spotted my flaw and kept attacking my flang. I was beaten by the best uncle of the game(Ah Tat) twice, as he played one-two passes with another liverpool uncle. His cross were perfectly received by an Arsenal fan, and he puts the opposition 1-nil up.
White 0-1 Red.

On ya, the two teams were divided by the colour of their. It is red vs white.
The opposition were mainly wearing Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool jerseys while my team' uncles were mainly wearing the white England Jersey. As for me, since i wore a white singlet, so i was with the white team.

The uncles gave me many chances to perform, but i guess i didn't mean thier expectations. My runs on the flangs were intercepted by Ah Tat easily. My style is to kick the ball forward and sprint after it, but since Ah Tat has better stamina, and bigger body built, he wins all the ball.

In the middle of the game, our team captain wants me to stay front, Left wing, instead of left wing back. I did as what i was told, and the effect was immediate. After receiving a pass from mid-field, i lob the ball in for "Gao Loh"(mean tall guy), and he sliced the ball into the net.
White1-1Red.

Towards the end of the game, i was panting like crazy. My throat was very dry and i kept coughing. Seeing my situation, the uncles still pass the ball to me and wants me to bring up. I am seriously dying, but they don't play HALF TIME, so i have to suffer till the end. I don't want to faint, so whenever i receive the ball, i will just aim it at Gao Loh at "pump" the ball forward all the way to him, i won't run anymore!
We won a corner, and the corner was taken nicely. The ball was headed out of the opposition penalty box. One of our team mate tried to cross the ball in towards me, but instead of reaching my head. It went into the net.
We won the game miraculously....

I thanked them for inviting me to play this game. The artificial field was good, the weather was good, the players were professional. It's my best game ever.
